History Of Hotel Devdaha & Restaurant
Hotel Devdaha & Restaurant, founded by Jyoti Kandel and family 15 years ago, has remained a landmark of hospitality and warmth. Over time, it has evolved with modern amenities while keeping its charm intact. The stunning Buddha Maoli, serene hidden village, and one of Asia’s largest trees continue to be key attractions that symbolize our deep connection with nature and peace.
Building upon this legacy, the enterprise has recently undertaken a significant expansion, bringing its renowned service and atmosphere to the capital by opening a new branch in Kathmandu's Sundhara. This location places the hotel right at the confluence of the city's vibrant history and modern bustle, with Sundhara itself being famous for its historic water spouts and its central position as a cultural and transportation hub. The Kathmandu branch offers guests the unparalleled convenience of being a short walk from the iconic, newly reconstructed Dharahara —a powerful national symbol of resilience and a towering piece of Nepali history. This central location also provides easy access to other profound historic places like the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kathmandu Durbar Squareand the sprawling parade ground of Tundikhel, immersing visitors directly into the heart of the city's ancient heritage.
